Yvonne (Bonnie) Rivera was born in Brownsville, Texas and lived in California before settling in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Concordia University with a degree in General Business.
She worked a variety of jobs โ from housekeeping to sales in the building industry to IT sales and consulting, where she managed a sales force of more than six people covering the entire State of Texas. From there she founded two companies: an IT hardware and software company that was a certified Microsoft reseller, and The Rivera Vega Group, which is focused on Construction and General Industry Safety.
She consults regularly for construction companies across the State of Texas in developing safety plans, leadership training, and communication. She is an authorized bilingual trainer for UT Arlington, where she trains OSHA 10-Hour and OSHA 30-Hour courses for individuals to learn safe practices in a variety of industries. She trains Goodwill Industries and Family Services students in both Construction and General Industry OSHA 10.
She was instrumental in helping the Harris County Department of Education develop the protocols for Safe and Secure School audits, as well as an Emergency Action and Preparedness system in conjunction with the City of Houston.
She has sat on the Board of the Hispanic Construction Association, where she was recognized as a Rising Star by the Association.
Her passion is to help change people's lives โ or, as she says, "Cambiar Sus Estrellas." She believes that women of all ages should be empowered to follow their dreams and can accomplish anything they seek to do.
She is a certified Level 3 Reiki Master, and her hobbies include reading and tending to what she calls her family pack: a 9-year-old, two Labradoodles, a Great Dane, and an African Grey Parrot.
